Hello Parents and Players, I am happy to be a new member of your THUSC family and help in the development of your performance training techniques. Starting next week, Rapinoe SC will be spearheading your current fitness program, with the help of current THUSC trainers and coaches. This is a very exciting opportunity for our company, as we have tremendous respect for this youth soccer organization. Rapinoe SC has been in business since 2009, teaching the beautiful game through a very passionate lens. Our company's vision is to be the best you can be, both on and off the pitch. Our goal is to connect the gap between performance training techniques and on-field performance outcomes. Our programming is rooted in fundamental strength-based movements (strength, speed, power), specific to all ages and genders. We believe it is crucial to learn h ow to us e your body correctly, with proper intention, and learn how to control the controllable[s]. Personally, I played Division 1 NCAA Women's Soccer at the University of Portland, from 2004-2008. We won a National Championship in 2005, and I was awarded several WCC 1st, 2nd and academic honors during my career. Upon graduating from UP, I had many coaching stints, and then departed for Iceland where I played professionally. Injuries forced me into an early retirement, but the passion inside of me for the game and training never escaped. Post-retirement, I achieved a M.S. in Health and Exercise at PSU, while working for the ECNL during graduate school. That is enough for now, but as I said above this is an exciting opportunity and I am honored to be working with THUSC. I hope to see many of you next Tuesday for the start of the 2016 fitness program. All the best, Rachael Rapinoe . |
