THUSC provides the opportunity to play two seasons of outdoor, full-sided soccer per year. We've completed the fall league and coming soon is the spring league. The spring league is sponsored by another local soccer club and participation is limited to teams in the Portland or Salem areas. Each of THUSC's U11-U14 teams is expected to participate in the spring season as a complement to the year-long THUSC training program.
In most cases, your team will stay together to participate in the spring league. The cost per player is $225 if you register on-line ($235 if you register through the mail). This fee includes coaching, league fee, and club fees. The registration deadline is January 15th, 2002. Any registrations after that date will incur a $20 late fee and will not be guaranteed a place on a team. The match dates for the league are:
Saturday
Sunday
March 9
March 10
March 16
March 17
April 6
April 7
April 13

Common Questions
Q: When is the spring league?
The spring league begins on March 9. Teams will begin practicing outdoors as soon as field space is available.
Q: What if my child has conflicts with other sports?
All THUSC coaches make allowances for other sports. Certain teams, such as those that are continuing on in Snickers Cup or are travelling out of state, need to spend as much time playing soccer as possible. Please discuss your situation with your team's coach.
Q: Why does the spring league seem so expensive?
There are a number of reasons to explain the cost of the spring league for THUSC players. A number of changes have taken place in the last 12 months to improve THUSC's overall program. Most importantly, the club now has a Club Director (Tom Atencio) that is a full time employee of the club. This adds immense talent and capability to the THUSC program, but it does increase costs. Each program is designed to support it's share of the overhead of the club so that everyone pays a fair fee each time. The Board of Directors makes every effort to set fees at the lowest levels possible. Unlike other clubs, THUSC has no administrative staff and all non-coaching positions are staffed by volunteers.
Q: What happens if there aren't enough members of our team wanting to play?
One of the great things about the spring league is that it has flexible roster rules. Essentially any player in the age group can play for any THUSC team as long as they have a USYSA/OYSA player pass (all THUSC players have these ID cards and they are usually held by the coach or team manager). This means that we can always find a place for our players to play, even if only a portion of the team signs up to play. The spring season has many conflicts with other sports, so joining teams together is very common.
Q: Why have you gone to an online system with PreEnroll.com?
PreEnroll.com is used by a number of local programs for all registration needs. Our club is very "web enabled" and can benefit from using PreEnroll rather than filling out paper forms. It also reduces the administrative load on the volunteers of the club (one of whom is writing this Q&A). We think that by using PreEnroll.com, we are adding a significant convenience benefit for the members of our club, including acceptance of credit card payments for registration.
Q: What do I do if I am a team manager?
The great thing about the PreEnroll.com system is that we get timely, accurate information about who has registered and who has not. Team managers only need to make sure that their team registers by the deadline. THUSC will take care of ALL paperwork required to enter your team in the league.
